Have you ever looked at someone and thought to yourself, "I wonder what's in her bag?"
Maybe she's dressed in a perfectly cut powersuit, with a Miranda Priestly attitude to match (any The Devil Wears Prada fans here?), and carrying a Louis Vuitton Neverfull.
Or, maybe she's writing in a coffee shop, scribbling madly into a notebook, with a beat up cross body on the table next to her.
Either way, I always want to know what these women deem important enough to carry around all the time.
No? Just me? Okay, it's fiiiiiine.
To me, a purse is like a portable medicine cabinet. I always have a strong, inexplicable desire to know what exactly is inside. But, like the medicine cabinet in someone else's home, I can't just rifle through some woman's purse or ask to know what's in there.
Well today, I spilled out the contents of my own purse just in case anyone wanted to know what I deem important enough to carry around.
So, if you want to know more about what's inside the handbag of a recovering over-packer, look no further.
First off, the bag itself. It's a cross body because honestly, I can't use anything else. I've always wanted to be the kind of women who carries a shoulder bag with confidence but I'm just not. I prefer a hands-free purse carrying experience so nothing speaks to my heart like a cross body style.
Now let's chat about the inside.
Probably the most important item in my bag is my planner. I am hopeless without it. I track my budget, work meetings, personal appointments, and boutique to-dos. My particular planner is from Plum Paper and I was able to customize it to be exactly what I needed. I'm a huge planner nerd so I could talk about mine for days!

Next inside is "a few of my favorite things." The gum and Tic-Tacs are both fruity flavors that I'm obsessed with. And of course who doesn't need an emergency stash of Dove dark chocolate? I also carry a few Arbonne Fizz Sticks for when I need an energy boost without the crash.
Another of my favorite things in there is my very favorite lipstick that I wore on my wedding day. I like to swipe some on when I need a little mood lift. The color is perfect for any time and I just love it!
I also carry my favorite RayBans with me everywhere I go. They are the Fold Up Wayfarer design and they are so handy! They fold up neatly and fit perfectly inside the carrying case, which is about the size of a pack of cigarettes. I only know that because one time my grandfather asked me, outraged, "when did you take up that habit?!" I had to take them out offer a demo before he calmed down.
I was surprised to see that I only had 2 extra pens at the moment, normally that number is way more. I'm sort of a pen-aholic. The cute little mustard case is a business card holder I got on Amazon. People were always asking how to find my boutique online and while I had business cards, they were never with me. Problem solved.
Last but not least, the grey and white patterned bag is sort of a catch all for any items too small to be on their own. For example: Dental floss, tampons, hand sanitizer, medicine, band aids, contact solution...basically all the things I've ever wished I had in a pinch.
So that's it...now you know the real me. Or at least what's in my purse! ;)
Let me know what you want to hear about next!
